NPPS Online Training Policies

 Registration and Materials Policies

Course Materials:  Course materials will be sent at least two weeks prior to the start of class. It is the responsibility of the participant to assure the correct address is provided to NPPS. It is not the responsibility of NPPS to send additional materials if an incorrect address has been provided.

Extensions:  No extensions will be given for those that fail to complete the course within the time allowed.  If an emergency arises the participant many contact the instructor to determine a plan of action.

Reschedule: A $25 rescheduling fee may be charged for those requesting to be moved to another course.

Substitution: Programs may substitute another participant in place of the individual that has registered and paid for the training.  A $25 fee will be charged for each substitution.  Substitution requests must be received by NPPS a minimum of three business days before the course start date.  No substitutions will be allowed after the course has started.

Withdrawal: Participants may withdrawal from the course with a refund up to three business days before the start of the course.  No withdrawals will be allowed after the course has started.  Participants will be refunded the registration fee minus the cost of any course materials already sent to the participant.

 

Technical Policies

Changing Your Password:  For security reasons, it is highly recommended that you change your initial password to a unique, secure value. After logging into the UNI eLearning System, you will be on the My Institution tab. Locate the Tools module (upper left) and click the Personal Information link. Click the Change Password link. Enter a new password twice and click the Submit button. To navigate back, click on the My Institution tab. Please remember to write down your new password, as NPPS will not know your new password.


Players/Plugins Needed:  This course contains videos that require a Flash Player Plugin. Upon accessing the first video, the browser should check for the plugin and alert you if it does not find it (and provide an option to download and install it). The plugin is the same as what's needed to play a YouTube video. So if you're able to watch a YouTube video, you should already be set to go. If you have any problems getting the videos to run, please click "Contact UNI Help" in the navigation menu at the left. In addition, please take some time to review the attached Training Policies.

Technical Issues: Participants are responsible for checking that the online course is compatible with their computer before the course start date.  If technical issues prohibit a participant from completing the online training NPPS will issue a refund if notified within 24 hours of the course going “live”.  After the course has been live for over 24 hours no refunds will be given.  Participants will be refunded the registration fee minus the cost of any course materials already sent to the participant.

Please use Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox. If you have to use Internet Explorer, please use the latest version (2011) and make sure you are NOT in compatibility mode. If your web browser version is not on the list on this page, we recommend that you update to one that is. If you aren't sure how to determine your browser's version or need assistance in updating it, please click "Contact eLearning Support" in the purple band at the top of the web page provided in the above paragraph.

 

Course Completion Policies

Completion Materials: Completion materials will be mailed to participants within three weeks of final submission of materials. A completion certificate will be issued with these materials. A CEU will also be issued for those completing the inspection course. If materials have not been received within a month of course completion it is the participant’s responsibility to contact NPPS for completion materials. If a certificate needs to be reissued after this one month period, a $10 processing fee will be charged for the new certificate. If a new CEU certificate is also required, an addition $12 fee will be incurred.

Failure to Complete the Course:  No refunds will be given for those that fail to complete the course within the time allowed.

Plagiarism:  In accordance with the University of Northern Iowa’s policy on plagiarism, no participants shall submit the words, ideas, images, or data of another person as his or her own in any academic writing or assignment in a course. Acts of plagiarism may result in immediate dismissal from the course for all parties involved.
