Certified Supervisor for Outdoor Environments

Course Description

Participants explore the roles and responsibilities of outdoor supervision for keeping children safe and active. This course is designed to train participants on supervision practices. 

Participants will learned about the legal and moral responsibilities of keeping children safe. There is an emphasis on preparation procedures, how to check and anticipate dangers in outdoor environments, and learning best practices for active monitoring and emergency procedures. 

Target Audience

Individual that work with children and youth on a regular basis; such as Child Development Teachers and Staff, Elementary Teachers and Staff, Park and Recreation Programmers, Directors, and Adminitrators. 

Course Requirements

This course is 6 clock hours of training. Completely self-paced, participants will be asked to read and review content and pass a final exam covering the material. There is a written supervision assignments done throughout the course.
